'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Briatore To Quit Renault For QPR

Vital QPR can exclusively report that Flavio Briatore intends standing down as managing director of Renault Formula One so he can spend more time focusing his energy on Queens Park Rangers FC.

The 58-year-old Italian's Renault F1 contract expires at the end of the current season, leaving the larger than life charismatic businessman to devote more time helping the SW12 side push for promotion into the Premier League.

An unnamed source, who works for Renault F1 told Vital Queens Park Rangers...

'Flavio has indicated this will be his last season with Renault. Although he loves the sport, it's as if he wants to devote more time to the new love in his life - Queens Park Rangers Football Club.'

'Although we would be the last to know what his future plans are my work colleagues and I are beginning to notice not what the boss says but how he says it. It's as if he's lost that killer instinct, drive and enthusiasm we're all used to around here.'

'Let me say this. Formula One wouldn't be the same without the boss walking around the circuits with gorgeous girls (and I mean gorgeous) by his side, or the noise of his private chopper flying around the place while we're working around the clock trying to fix a crucial mechanical problem.'

'To be honest I cannot stand football but QPR will be up there with the best quicker than you might think. Good luck, not that you'll need it.'

What do you think? Will Flavio walk away from Renault, and if his does, will it mean the Hoops can start preparing for the return of the glory days?"
