De Canio On Cloud Ainsworth

Queens Park Rangers boss Luigi De Canio was on cloud Ainsworth after he saw the 34-year-old midfielder score and then assist Dexter Blackstock equalise against a resilient Preston, all of which occurred in injury time.

Speaking after the match Gigi told the official QPR website...

'Gareth is the heart and soul of this club. He's an extraordinary individual, who has the respect of everyone who knows him.'

'He is the spirit, the heart and the attitude of QPR and he deserved to be the hero today.'

The Rangers gaffer also had time to praise the opposition...

'Preston were very good and they made it very hard for us throughout, but the players responded with a great demonstration of character in the final moments and they deserve a lot of credit for that.'

Gareth to the rescue or what! Cracking point to say the least. Must admit it makes a change from us leaking in last minute goals. Happy Days!!
