Queens Park Rangers final away game of the season at Norwich marks the last home game of Dion Dublin`s illustrious 20-year career.
Dion rounds off his career at the club it all began, Norwich City. He has made a total of 610 league appearances, scoring 183 league goals, his transfer fee`s totalled a staggering £8.75m.
Dion has made a total of 9 appearances against Rangers, scoring three goals. His first in the 2-2 draw back in September 1994. He followed this up with goals for his current club Norwich in 2006, first in a 3-3 draw at Loftus Road; then in a 1-0 win over the R`s at Carrow Road last season.
Dublin has played for 8 clubs in total, Cambridge United, Manchester United, Coventry City, Aston Villa, Leicester and Celtic, with the player having two separate spells at Norwich. There was also a period on loan at Millwall during his illustrious 10 year career.
He received promotion from Division 3 with Cambridge in 1990/91, and was denied playoff success the following season in Division 2 by one of his future clubs Leicester, losing 6-1 on aggregate.
Dion was also present at Manchester United as they won two titles in 1992/93 and 1993/94, only making a couple of appearances for the Red Devil`s but nevertheless part of the squad.
He scored on his debut for Coventry at Loftus Road following a £2m move from the champions. He also played European football for Aston Villa, under the guidance of Ex-Rangers boss John Gregory. He had a brief flirtation with Scottish football at Celtic in 2006, before return back to the place it all began at Norwich.
There is a lot of admiration and respect in the footballing world for Dion Dublin as a true professional, and from my experience at Loftus Road, despite not being an ex-player, he is always given a good hand from the crowd, who recognise an excellent career that perhaps could have warranted some England caps.
There will certainly be Rangers fans staying behind at Carrow Road to recognise the end of excellent career of a true professional. Goodbye and Good luck from all at Vital QPR
