Teixeira's Tribute

Filipe Teixera will not feature in tomorrow`s Championship deciding clash at Loftus Road, however his fellow players have rallied around the Portuguese midfielder, and will pay tribute to him before kick off.

Teixeira has been out injured since early March after rupturing his cruciate knee ligaments against Plymouth Argyle, and the Albion players have come up with a special tribute to the player whose season was cut short.

During the warm up all West Brom players will be sporting t-shirts with "20 Teixeira" on the back. The midfield wizard who only moved to the Baggies at the start of the season for 600k from Paris St.-Germain, has found himself a popular figure at the Hawthornes.

This is highlighted by the pioneer of this initiative, full back Paul Robinson, who told the West Brom official website:

"It was a massive blow losing Filipe"

"At the time we didn`t think it was serious we thought he`d just twisted his knee, but then we found out it was his cruciate"

Robinson continued:

"He was playing some of his best football for us and we had to try and deal with that."

"Luckily for us we`ve got great quality in the squad to replace him"

He finished off by adding:

"We`ve missed him a lot and hopefully we can lift the trophy for him on Sunday."

Quality player that whatever Robinson says I'm sure is being missed, such creativity is a rare commodity.
