'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Dowie: Exciting Times

Iain Dowie spoke after his appointment as First Team Coach at Queens Park Rangers, and indicated what the club holds for him.

Dowie spoke to the official website stating:

'This is a very exciting long-term project'

'I'm very privileged to have been given the opportunity under the new ownership to return to the club where I served my managerial apprenticeship."

With the buzzword of "project" ringing in everyone`s ears, Dowie seemed delighted to be taking the reigns and continue the work of Luigi De Canio:

'I've been thoroughly impressed by the new investors and their fresh, aggressive and innovative approach to all sporting matters, as well as the marketing and commercial aspect of this football club.

'QPR is a fantastic club, with a successful history and I'm going to relish the challenge that lies ahead.'

This is Dowie`s fifth job in management after successful spells with Oldham, Crystal Palace and Coventry, plus a short-lived period in charge of Charlton Athletic.
