Flowers and Harbin link up with Dowie

Queens Park Rangers today appointed Tim Flowers as assistant to Iain Dowie, and Australian John Harbin as performance manager.

Former England goalkeeper and Premier League winner Tim Flowers will assist Iain Dowie at Loftus Road. He expressed his delight following his appointment:

"I`m delighted to be here to assist Iain."

"I like the look of this squad, I`ve seen QPR play a few times over the last 12 months or so and I`m very optimistic about next season"

He continued:

"A squad as talented as this one, with a few new additions added to the mix, can certainly go a long way"

His prior coaching experience was four successful years as a goalkeeping coach at Manchester City, and the likes of Kasper Schmeichel and Joe Hart are testament to the ability of Dowie`s new assistant.

He joined Dowie on the coaching staff at Coventry City, and now links up with him again in W12.

John Harbin, a yorkshireman by birth, has spent most of his career working in Rugby League. First in Australia, then moving back to England in 2000 working with the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

Dowie snapped up the fitness fanatic at Oldham Athletic, before taking him to Crystal Palace, where Harbin was an integral cog in helping Palace turn their fortunes around and achieve promotion, sporting the slogan "One more round".

Vital QPR welcomes the two new additions and wishes them the best of luck in their respective roles.

What does the future hold for Gareth Ainsworth though?
Boxer
He'll provide the after-match entertainment with the rest of his band?!! Seriously - I agree! It doesn't look so good for Ainsworth now but I see he's doing the first part of his coaching quals so he's obviously still intending to make that move - I just hope he gets his chance with us, as Dowie was given his chance with us!!!
