Dowie Moves For Ben Watson

News has surfaced today that Iain Dowie has been knocked back in his efforts to sign his former player Ben Watson from Crystal Palace.

With only 12 months left on his contract, Watson has a number of clubs including Queens Park Rangers, Reading and Norwich City chasing his signature.

With Watson`s contract ticking down, Dowie has reportedly lodged a £1.25m bid for the young Eagles midfielder, and this bid was promptly rejected by Crystal Palace.

Only time will tell as to whether Rangers will be successful in any subsequent attempts to lure Watson from Palace, with a follow up bid reportedly in the offing.

Palace have already lost defender Mark Hudson to Charlton Athletic, and with young prodigy John Bostock on the verge of departure, this news will come as another blow to many Eagles supporters.

I agree, top notch midfielder, I'm just concerned that isn't where we need strengthening.

No, not yet, who knows the new manager may fancy him. Again though, another central midfielder!
Boxer
Its not surprising he has been knocked back, after the way he left Palace. I shouldn't think they will let him sign any of their players.

Palace want more money! I think you will find that with a lot of clubs in the summer. They know you have the money so will push up the price.
