Rangers Draw The Robins

Queens Park Rangers have today drawn Swindon Town in the First Round of the Carling Cup.

Rangers will line up at the County Ground, with ties commencing the week of 11th August 2008.

The last time the R`s face Swindon Town was the penultimate game of the 2003/04 promotion season, when a victory at Loftus Road courtesy of Martin Rowlands, set the R`s up for a day out at Hillsborough.

Rangers cup woes continued last year when a depleted Rangers side managed by John Gregory went down 2-1 at home to Leyton Orient. Martin Rowlands opportunist second half strike was scarcely consolation as Jason Demetriou and an Adam Boyd penalty saw the R`s off, as they stumbled at the first hurdle.

Rangers could only have drawn 1 of 19 southern section un-seeded sides.

I wouldn't be surprised to see sky show this game with all the players you are expecting to bring in.

Would be nice to see us get through a few rounds. Getting a few good cup results, early doors, filters through to the league form......just look at West Brom!
