Holloway MK Bound?

Reports are surfacing in this mornings papers that Ian Holloway may be on his way to Milton Keynes Dons following the departure of Paul Ince.

Holloway became another casualty of the Milan Mandaric era when he failed to guide Leicester City to safety in the Championship, and Ince was hotly tipped to fill the vacancy at the Walkers Stadium.

But with the current volatile market of football management being as it is, Ince has a host of jobs to choose from, and Blackburn Rovers was his preferred option with Chairman Pete Winkelman`s blessing.

Holloway who guided the R`s to promotion from League One to the Championship, would serve as an ideal candidate for the Dons in their drive for success. The ex-Bristol Rovers, QPR and Plymouth Argyle boss has been a proven success in the third tier of English football, and would be quite the capture for MK.

If the deal went through Holloway would link up with former striker Kevin Gallen and former loanee Lloyd Dyer at stadium:mk. But he may also have competition in another ex-QPR boss, John Gregory.

Good for MK Dons, but filling the void left by Ince is an unenviable job.

To be honest I can't fault the job he did at Mac, tremendous stuff. I think he had easily the biggest wage budget in the league and he did what was expected of him and nothing more. Has worked his magic in the bottom league, but the leap to the Prem will be a big test for him.
