Queens Park Rangers have carried out a major coup by swooping for Argentinean Emmanuel Ledesma in a season long loan deal.
The season long loan deal from Genoa includes an option for the R`s to sign the highly rated winger for three million euros at the end of the season.
The 20 year old had sparked interest from a number of prominent Serie A clubs, but ultimately chose Rangers as his destination for next season, a deal that has manager Iain Dowie excited about the forthcoming season.
"It's a very exciting signing,' he told qpr.co.uk.
'I went to watch him in Italy and although Genoa lost that particular fixture, he was the outstanding player on the pitch."
'He's incredibly creative and has exceptional ability on the ball. He can play across the front line and has a great range of passing."
The R`s first team coach continued:
'He's one for the future, but technically he's ready now. He'll need time to adapt to the style of the English game, and the Championship in particular, but I'm very excited about him.'
The R`s gaffer was also full of praise for Rangers co-owner Flavio Briatore in orchestrating the deal to take the young prodigy Ledesma to W12:
'We're very fortunate in that Flavio has good contacts in the Italian game and that has helped us tremendously to pull off this signing."
'I'm ever so grateful to him and he's as excited as I am about this.'
Flavio Briatore himself couldn`t resist and also chipped in with his praise for the hierarchy of Genoa in assisting the R`s in the capture of the highly rated forward.
"'I am extremely grateful to Mr Enrico Preziosi (the owner of Genoa) for giving QPR the opportunity to sign Emmanuel.
'He is a great, young talent and we are looking forward to welcoming him to QPR.'
Vital QPR would like to welcome Emmanuel and wish him the best of luck in his Rangers career.
