McLeod Happy With Latest Move

Former Rangers winger Kevin McLeod is delighted at the prospect of linking up with Micky Adams at Brighton & Hove Albion.

'I have been disappointed that I stay at clubs for two years here and there." He told the Argus

"Hopefully I can stay here now until the end of my career or for however long I want to because I think Micky is the man."

'I have signed for two years but I am looking to get my head down here, get settled and hopefully make two years into three or four, however long it takes, because as long as Micky is the manager I'll want to stay."

McLeod started out at Everton, before making a couple of loan switches to QPR. The deal became permanent before the R`s played Brighton in August 2003. Following the R`s promotion he linked up with former QPR assistant manager Kenny Jackett at Swansea City before an incident breaching club discipline saw the Liverpool born winger transfer listed at the Liberty Stadium.

It was then he made the move to Layer Road, where under the guidance of Geraint Williams the U`s continued to go from strength to strength. It was there that McLeod came into contact with now boss Micky Adams.

'I was offered a new deal by Colchester but I wasn't really convinced by what they were offering me. I spoke to Micky and I have got good faith in him after the time he was with me there. I think he is a great man manager.

'I didn't know him before he came in at Colchester. Everyone was thinking he was too big for the job but I got on with him and got to know him quite well. Micky says it how it is and that is what I like in a manager."

McLeod continued to praise the managerial ability of the former Fulham, Leicester and Coventry boss, who has also had a previous spell with the Seagulls at the turn of the Millennium.

'If he thinks you are not pulling your weight or passing the buck he will tell you. He's had a lot of experience, he knows what he is talking about and I think we can go on to do good things.

'If I have got problems I can go and see him. He is so down to earth. He has been great for the last couple of weeks while I have been on holiday. I just want to get myself fit and crack on, repay the faith he has showed in me and go on with bigger things for Brighton.'

McLeod joined the R`s for £250k from Everton and made 58 league appearances for Rangers scoring 4 goals.

Well showed flashes of brilliance at Colchester but wasn't consistant enough.

When your struggling to get points in Division 2 Mcleod would pop up with his blue boots and try something flash. Get on peoples nerves that kind of thing. No doubting his talent, bit flash.
