Rehman Ready For The Challenge

Zesh Rehman completed a loan deal to Blackpool in a deal which paved the way for Latvian Kaspars Gorkss to move to W12. Rehman spoke following the deal.

Rehman arrived at Bloomfield Road in a six-month loan with an option for Blackpool to extend the deal to the end of the season, or make it permanent.

'I'm very pleased to be fair." Rehman told blackpoolfc.co.uk

"I spoke to Simon Grayson about the club and what his plans are and I'm really impressed - I just can't wait to get started."

'I'm looking forward to helping the club in whatever way I can. I've played in a few different positions and, wherever the gaffer needs me to play, I'll be more than happy to do that, and then we'll assess it after the six months and take it from there.'


A Pakistani International footballer, Zesh Rehman prides himself on playing for his country and has become somewhat of an ambassador of roll model for young Asian professionals.

Starting his career at Fulham, Rehman spent three years at Craven Cottage making 21 appearances.

He completed a move to Queens Park Rangers under Gary Waddock, and signed a three year deal for an undisclosed fee. Since then he has failed to impress a string of managers at Loftus Road despite a lot of opportunity, making 49 appearances in total for Rangers.

Zesh understands however that playing will not be a foregone conclusion, and fighting for his place is at the top of his priorities,

'At any club there is always a challenge to get in the side - I don't think anyone is guaranteed a place - so hopefully, once I've got the shirt, I'll do my best to keep it.'
