Two Ex-R`s Trialing At Luton

Ex-QPR players Tony Thorpe and Stefan Moore are currently trialing with Luton Town, hoping to earn permanent deals at Kenilworth Road.

Thorpe, 34 takes a trial with lowly Luton following stints with Swindon Town, Colchester United and Stevenage Borough for whom he featured against the R`s in a friendly back in 2006.

Prior to Rangers, Luton was Thorpe`s club of choice making 164 league appearances over four spells with the Hatters, scoring 71 goals. He also had spells with Fulham and Bristol City with loan spells at Reading and later Rotherham.

Thorpe was heavily criticised for his move to Loftus Road from Luton, and the reaction to his impeding deal will make for interesting reading.

This news comes as Stefan Moore is also given another go after a string of career disappointments following a promising start alongside brother Luke at Aston Villa.

However whilst Luke Moore has remained a Premier League player with West Bromwich Albion, Stefan`s talents are yet to come to fruition as he`s worked his way down the football league ladder to the bottom club, Luton Town.

Following spells with Chesterfield, Millwall and Leicester on loan, Moore came to Rangers on a crest of a wave, with manager Ian Holloway very excited about the deal taking the highly rated youngster to W12.

During his spell with QPR he bagged only three goals, being played mainly out wide, and a loan spell with Port Vale yielded only one goal, then boss Martin Foyle opted against retaining the strikers services. Since then he has been released to Port Vale, scoring on debut away at Luton.

Former R`s caretaker boss Mick Harford stated:

'He (Thorpe) hasn't done a lot of training," Harford stated,

"He has been involved in a lot of small-sided games and other aspects of training. To play a competitive game is different."

'It's good to have a proper look at him. We will just keep an eye on him over the next few weeks and see how it progresses."

This news comes as former Queens Park Rangers and Luton Town midfielder Richard Langley has been trialing with Southend United.
