Watson Poised For R`s Switch

Watson Poised For R`s Switch

Ben Watson could be set to end one of the saga`s of the summer as he turns down Nottingham Forest in a move that could pave the way to W12.

The former Under-21 international has been linked with a move away from Selhurst Park for sometime, with Birmingham City, Nottingham Forest and QPR the front-runners in the race for his signature.

This latest development comes as Palace manager Neil Warnock reveals, Watson has rejected going Nottingham bound:

'Ben's turned Forest down,' Warnock told South London Press.

'It's not necessarily the case that he'll be leaving before the transfer deadline."

'Ben and his agent have made it clear that he wants to go to QPR so I don't know where that leaves us.'

Watson broke into the Crystal Palace side aged 17 making his debut in a 1-0 home defeat to Watford, whilst his first goal came the following season at the New Den in a South London derby against Millwall.

Since then Watson has made 151 league appearances, scoring 13 goals for the Eagles. He was voted Crystal Palace`s young player of the year in 2007.

He also has Under-21 international honours, making two appearances for England Under 21`s.
