Patrick Agyemang could be in line to start against Southampton, but the game on Sunday comes too soon for Akos Buzsaky according to Iain Dowie.
Agyemang who bagged a brace against the Saints at St. Mary`s for Rangers, also scored two against the South coast outfit for Preston at Deepdale earlier last season and could be set for a return to first team action according to Dowie.
"Pats virtually there, but although Akos played in Tuesdays reserve match against Millwall, he`ll need a little more time before he`s considered for the first team." Dowie told The London Informer
Neither Agyemang nor Angelo Balanta retained their place in the reserve line-up for the 4-3 victory over Millwall, alluding to the fact they will both be in first team reckoning come the weekend.
Buzsaky has openly stated previously that he would have been delighted to get the nod, but admitted the game has come too soon for him, and the subsequent fixtures of Norwich and Coventry are more reasonable targets for the return of the Magical Magyar.
This news comes as Damion Stewart didn`t receive a call-up to the Jamaica squad, despite some of his more impressive displays in a Rangers shirt coming in recent weeks, a bewildering notion that Dowie is delighted with,
"Damion`s done ever so well since he came in, but his surprise exclusion can only do us a power of good."
Rangers will be looking to dispel the disaster of a three-nil defeat last time out at Loftus Road, in a game that commemorated the life and times of recently deceased R`s striker Ray Jones, and saw Mikele Leigertwood make his bow in a Rangers shirt.
