Flavio Briatore has moved to quash speculation that QPR have thrown their money around.
The QPR co-owner was baffled by the persistent tag of 'free spenders`, considering that Rangers have actually made a profit during summer on transfer dealings alone,
'QPR have spent less money than anyone" Briatore told Sky Sports
"We haven't paid a fee for a player since January; indeed we realised a positive balance of £400,000 for transfer dealings over the summer,'
'It puzzles me that people are talking about QPR as a club spending lots of money as that's not the case."
According to Mr. Briatore it is less a case of building a team of Galactico`s to take the Premier League by storm, more it is about getting the infrastructure within the club correct, by attracting the right investors, and using the correct tools to do so.
'We are still in the process of attracting investors, not exclusively because of their financial power, but because we want them, as people, to be part of our programme.' Briatore continued,
'Step by step we have been putting money into facilities so as to create a unique brand and concept; in essence a boutique stadium,'
'It is an exclusive side of football that will rely on service, style, the ability to look after people and an insistence on playing the game the right way. It is all part of our plan, and we must make sure we do things the right way.'
Mr. Briatore has said from the outset that this is indeed a project, and all investors see it as a viable business opportunity. Henceforth he denied the approach that has made Manchester City and Chelsea will be employed at QPR, well not for the time being anyhow.
