Doherty suffered a syndesomosis sprain of his right ankle and after an X-ray and MRI scan, club physio Prav Mathema confirmed the news to the official website.
'Tommy is likely to miss the rest of the season. He's suffered a severe sprain and we'll continue to assess him.''
