Rangers In Their Rightful Place

Queens Park Rangers have been determined as being in their overall correct position by a recent study.

The 'Achievers Report` performed by the new football pools takes into account the following factors:

The club`s 'starting position` in 1992

Stadium capacity and average attendances 1992-2008

Changes in club ownership and associated investments

Financial difficulties, including administration

Transfers in and out since 1992

League and Cup performances each season

Quite how accurate this study is however is open to debate as they describe QPR as the following:

"Having finished the first three Premier League seasons in the top ten, to now be a struggling Championship side smacks of a significant under-achievement

"The reality is that QPR of the early 1990s were undoubtedly over-achieving and the QPR of today is probably a more realistic assessment of the club`s size and capabilities.

"Financial problems have beset the clubs since the start of the millennium, and the recent merry go rounds in the boardroom and the managers office have to be taken into consideration when you assess the club`s overall performance. But despite having three billionaire backers we think the Rangers fans who now believe anything but the Premier League is under-achieving need a reality check."

Interesting in some respects, but since 1992 the study holds very little validity in my opinion
