Buzsaky`s Injury Hell

Akos Buzsaky has been sidelined for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury.

The Magical Magyar was withdrawn in Tuesday nights fixture against Manchester United on 33 minutes citing pain to his knee.

Upon further inspection physio Paul Hunter determined that he has sustained an anterior cruciate knee ligament injury.

Hunter explains: 'Unfortunately, Akos will be sidelined for between six to nine months,' he told QPR.co.uk

'His studs got caught in the turf and his right knee twisted and regrettably, he now faces a long period out.

'We've seen the surgeon and he'll be going in for surgery in the coming days.'

Caretaker boss Gareth Ainsworth added:

'It's a massive blow for us.

'Akos is a unique talent and he was just starting to hit peak form again following his spell on the sidelines at the start of the season with an ankle injury.

'I'm devastated we've lost him, but all we can do is offer him support and wish him all the best with his recovery.'

Buzsaky has been reduced to limited appearances this campaign after undergoing ankle surgery in the summer to fix an ongoing injury. Following this latest in a catalogue of injuries Akos joins Rowan Vine on the long-term absentees list.

What a blow, just when he looked like recapturing some form

It's very significant for us, but he was playing out of position on the right wing, maybe now we can get ourselves an out and out winger

Have to say I'm devastated - for him primarily but also for us. Against Cardiff, when he came on, Gaz changed the shape of the team so Buzz could go centre midfield & he was very effective. This is a tragic result of a game we were never going to win - I know it could've happened in a Championship match (ie meaningful match) - but nevertheless! I'm gutted :-(
