Balanta 'A Different Class'

Balanta 'A Different Class'

Angelo Balanta was hailed by Vital Wycombe as a catalyst for change in the second period, as Wycombe defeated promotion rivals Bradford City 1-0.

Balanta was introduced as a half time substitute for the ineffectual Lewwis Spence, as Wycombe changed to a 4-4-2 formation. It was a change that Vital Wycombe believed was a changing point in the fixture.

Here is their assessment of Balanta`s display:

Balanta played just off striker Matt Harrold as Wycombe adopted a 4-4-2 formation.

The transformation was immediate. Wycombe mounted a sustained period of pressure on Bradford and should have taken the lead long before the goal actually came.

Like all really good players, Balanta appears to have all the time in the world when he's on the ball. His first touch is of a class not normally seen in League Two and despite being clattered to the ground soon after coming on, he was to prove more than a match for the Bantams' defence.

Refreshingly unafraid to shoot, Balanta's first effort was in the 48th minute when he let fly from 20 yards, only to see the ball deflected for a corner.

Balanta had another crack at goal in the 88th minute when he unleashed a fierce drive from just outside the box. Evans dived to his left to save it but it was too hot to handle and the keeper had to scramble to gather it at the second time of asking.

Angelo was given the Man of the Match award with the final statement:

"Different class, he changed the game"

Polter Saves QPR

A SECOND half strike from Seb Polter ensured Queens Park Rangers took a share of the spoils in a less than thrilling return to the Pirelli Stadium for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

While the home supporters chanted the name of their former manager - who guided them into League One and helped pave the way for their current Championship status - the visiting supporters were left exasperated by another fairly tepid display.

It could have been worse for the visiting side as they fell behind
