Exclusive: Gorkss In Talks

Vital QPR can exclusively reveal that Queens Park Rangers defender Kaspars Gorkss is in preliminary talks with another Championship club with a view to a loan deal.

The defender who the R`s signed from Blackpool in the summer, has recently been in talks with Preston North End after failing to hold down a regular first team place in W12.

Kaspars and his father have travelled to Deepdale in the last week in order to thrash out a deal that was previously not possible in the summer, as the Latvian international chose Rangers over a host of other clubs including the Lilywhites.

Preston have expressed an interest in the Latvian and the deal now hinges on whether they can afford the wages that Kaspars is currently on at QPR.

If Blackpool were bitter before, this latest development is not going to go down well at Bloomfield Road, nor sections of Loftus Road when you consider how hard the R`s fought to attain his signature in the summer.

It remains to be seen whether wages will be a problem, but he hasn't been anywhere near the starting line-up in recent weeks. What with Leigertwood slotting in at right back, and the sheer amount of cover we have at centre back the future is bleak for Kaspars.

Some very strange decisions being made regarding personnel at present! I wish Gorkss all the best - if he goes - because he just doesn't seem to have had any chance with us - after all the fuss n bother. But that will mean we've lost yet another natural defender! And where's the exclusive on a striker, het????!!!! Joking apart - great work, Boxer ;-)
