'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Langley Finds A Club

Former Queens Park Rangers midfielder has finally found a club following his release from Luton Town.

The Rangers trainee penned a short-term deal with Bristol Rovers after failing trials with fellow League One outfits Cheltenham Town and Hereford United.

Director of Football Lennie Lawrence was delighted to capture the 28-year-old, who played under him at Cardiff City:

'We are delighted to announce that we are taking Richard on a short-term contract, to add competition for places in our midfield.

'He has a very impressive pedigree and will be an asset to our squad.'

Richard made 180 appearances for Rangers in all competitions over two spells, scoring 23 goals. A highlight for Richard evidently must have been a sensational hatrick against Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

He moved on to Cardiff City for a deal worth £200,000, before returning along with Steve Lomas on deadline day in August 2005. He was released by Gary Waddock and ended up at Luton Town.

Relegation woes with Luton, forced them to release the Harlesden born midfielder due to wage constraints in their current plight, and since then Richard has been looking for a club.

Bristol Rovers are the club that have at last come calling as a short-term measure, and Richard will be fighting for a place in the squad for the long away trip to Hartlepool United.
