Rowlands Ready For Wolves Clash

Queens Park Rangers captain Martin Rowlands is relishing the prospect of facing promotion favourites Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The former Brentford midfielder is excited to be playing in one of the toughest test of Rangers` season to date.

He said: 'It goes without saying that this is one of our biggest fixtures of the season to date,' Rowlands told QPR.co.uk

'They are flying high at the top of the Championship table and have proven quality throughout their squad.

'Their league position is no fluke and we know that we will need to be at our very best to topple them this evening. However, we have begun life well under the new gaffer and this is a genuine opportunity for us to lay down a marker against one of our promotion rivals.'

The game will be played out live on Sky in what has become a frequent occurrence for Rangers this season, and Rowlands believes this to be an extra incentive for his side.

He continued: 'The fact that the match will also be beamed to an audience of millions gives us an extra incentive to prove what a good side we are on our day.

'We have already proved with our victory over Birmingham City earlier this season that we are capable of competing with the very best sides this division has to offer, and for that reason alone, there is no reason whatsoever why we can't cause what many will see as another upset on Saturday.'
