Balanta Receives Pundit Accolade

Young QPR forward Angelo Balanta has received high praise from popular pundit Chris Kamara.

In his brief sky sports column describing the footballers to watch in 2009, Chris Kamara singled out the young Colombian Balanta alongside impressive Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana.

Kamara stated: "They are both lovely footballers with big futures ahead of them. As they improve they will become big stars in the next generation."

Balanta, who was once compared to Michael Schumacher by Rangers co-owner Flavio Briatore, is currently on loan at Wycombe Wanderers where he has scored two goals in seven appearances for the Chairboys.

The forward who turned 18 back in July has impressed Rangers fans with a skill and touch that belie his years, with many hoping he would be recalled in the wake of a recent striker crisis in W12.

However with the introduction of Heidar Helguson, Balanta has been left at Adams Park to work on his game and get some valuable first team football.
