Rangers midfield general Gavin Mahon speaks ahead of the FA Cup clash with Burnley, looking to dispel the defeat just over a month ago.
The former Watford and Brentford midfielder spoke to QPR.co.uk about his side`s chances of breaking their FA Cup curse, a winless run which stretches back to 2001.
The R`s were bowed out the cup with a narrow defeat against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last season, courtesy of a freak Claudio Pizarro strike.
Mahon assess Saturday`s opponents Burnley, who have dealt Rangers a fair share of heartbreak in W12 in recent years.
He said "There a good side Owen`s (Coyle) done a great job there with the squad he`s got and he`s brought in three or four exciting players and they`ve knocked out a couple of decent Premiership teams. It`s going to be difficult but we`re at home and I think we owe them as well.
"We need to concentrate on our game.
"It`s going to be a difficult game but we expect to win every game we play especially at home so there`s no reason why we can`t go and win this one."
Rangers perennial problem seems to be the lack of prowess in front of goal that has prevented them from kicking on and winning games. Mahon believes it`s only a matter of time before the system pays dividends and Rangers fire their way up the table.
He continued: "I don`t think this team is far away from being really successful and pushing on to the next level.
"We`ve had chances to kill games off and we haven`t done it, and sometimes it is difficult because teams know our system and they try and combat it.
"It`s up to us as professionals to open them up and try and get more goals. The one positive thing at the minute is that we look like we are going to create more chances than what we have done in earlier parts of the season."
