No Deadline Dealing

Rangers caretaker manager Gary Waddock was not involved in any transfer deadline day deals today but others in the Championship were.

Georges Santos was tipped to leave the club on loan this week and join up with Peter Taylor's Hull City.

But after waiting on the fitness of Matthew Rose, Waddo decided against releasing 'Gorgeous' Georges.

The 35-year old is one of numerous players out-of contract in June and looks likely to leave when his deal expires in the summer.

Waddo is yet to give the whole-hearted centre-half a start since he took over the reigns from Ian Holloway and despite captaining the reserves, Santos will leave to look for first-team football.

Stefan Moore was close to joining a number of League 1 clubs on loan but turned down the chance.

Moore who has struggled to make an impact at Loftus Road since signing from Aston Villa last year was offered various deals until the end of May but decided to work on his game at Rangers.

VITAL QPR believe Brentford, Nottingham Forest, Colchester United and Huddersfield Town were all interested.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Leeds signed Danny Graham on loan from Middlesbrough until the 22nd April.

Leeds defender Rui Marques has joined Championship rivals Hull City on loan after they failed to land Santos.

Plymouth agreed a deal to take former Rangers loanee Leon Clarke on loan until the end of the season.

Brighton signed Gifton Noel-Williams on loan from Burnley after signing Andy Gray from Sunderland last week , the Clarets also signed Alan Mahon from Wigan on an initial loan deal but will complete a summer move for the Irishman at a a price of £200,00.

Finally, Derby were unsuccessful in their attempt to sign out-of-favour West Brom and Sheffield Utd forward Geoff Horsfield.
