Skipper Out For The Season

Martin Rowlands has been ruled out until the end of the season as his worst injury fears were confirmed.

Rowlands came off injured just after 10 minutes in Rangers 2-0 win after Derby County after a challenge with Miles Addison. He looked in great discomfort being stretchered away, and scans today confirmed the R`s worst fears.

The skipper has suffered a similar injury to that of Akos Buzsaky, anterior cruciate ligament damage to the knee. Physio Paul Hunter confirmed the R`s worst fears:

He told QPR.co.uk: 'Unfortunately, our worst fears have been confirmed.

'Martin has seen a specialist today (Monday) and he will be back in hospital for surgery on Wednesday afternoon.

'Obviously, we are all desperately disappointed, but being the positive character and strong man that he is, we are confident Martin will bounce back from this setback and approach his rehabilitation in a positive manner.'

The question has been raised as to whether Rangers will seek a replacement in the transfer market, along with the question of who will take up the captaincy. All of which are hot topics currently being discussed on the forum.

Shocking stuff - really disappointing. Here's to hoping he's back next season. We wish him a speedy but more importantly full recovery.

On the plus side his next game could be in the premiership :)
