Sousa Praises Rowlands Spirit

Sousa Praises Rowlands Spirit

Paulo Sousa has spoken in the wake of Martin Rowlands being ruled out for the season.

Following Sousa dedicating the weekend`s win at Derby to the R`s skipper, Sousa moved to praise the midfielder who was recently ruled out for the season with anterior cruciate ligament damage.

Sousa told QPR.co.uk: 'Martin is our captain and our leader - he epitomises everything we are about.

'We have lost him as a player, but we will not lose him as a personality, because he is a huge character around the Club and I will continue to involve him as much as possible.

'He is a player we all hold in extremely high regard and we will be doing everything we can to get him back to full fitness as soon as possible.'

Martin now joins Patrick Agyemang, Akos Buzsaky and Rowan Vine on the sidelines with the latter two players both long-term injuries.

Sousa obviously thought highly of him, such a pity that he won't be around the first team, but certainly will be around the squad.

We are SO unlucky, tho - look at that list of injuries! Any other team you know could cope with the loss of 3/4 such hugely influential, important & talented players? I don't!
