R's Rekindle Striker Deal

Rangers have looked to resurrect a deal to bring Caleb Folan to the club according to rumours today.

The London Informer states that Rangers would look to take the striker on an initial loan period, before tying up the deal somewhere around the £1m mark - roughly what Hull paid Wigan Athletic for the out of favour forward.

The R`s failed in their attempt to bring the Irish international to the club back in October, but haven`t forgotten about the Tigers marksman as they look to bolster their strike force.

This comes as a 'Hoops Insider` tells the website that the Leroy Lita deal is dead in the water, with the striker opting to persist with Reading at least until the end of the campaign.

Meanwhile Rangers are unlikely to pursue their interest in £1m rated goalkeeper Kelvin Davis due to the already high standard of stoppers at the club.

He said: 'Lita wants to see where he is with Reading at the end of the season. And as it stands Rangers have two top keepers. Even if Lee Camp eventually leaves, the club can get an emergency keeper on loan should it be necessary.'

And now it's been officially confirmed that Big Dave is out for "months rather than weeks" - they're looking at mid-April for his return!

Just shows how important it is that we bag a forward soon - unless we're pinning our hopes on Angelo
