'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Brown Delight At Inter Showing

Coach Steve Brown had nothing but words of praise for his young side despite going down against Inter Milan in the opening game of the Coppa Carnevale tournament.

The R`s went down 2-1 to the Nerazzurri with goals from Antonio Esposito and Luca Caldirola sandwiching and equaliser from Antonio German.

Brown told QPR.co.uk of his pride in his young side under the watchful eye of QPR boss Paulo Sousa.

He said: 'This is a highly creditable result,

'Paulo Sousa came to the match, and he said to me afterwards that many people will have come here today expecting to see Inter win 4-0 or 5-0. But they have left talking about QPR, which is great.'

'We really challenged the holders, and took the game to them. That makes me immensely proud.

'In my opinion, a draw would have been a fair result. We definitely deserved something from it, but football can be a cruel game.

'Now I am really looking forward to our next game against Australian side A.P.I.A. Leichhardt Tigers on Wednesday, as are all the lads.'

Brown also singled out special praise for his three pronged attack of Romone Rose, Angelo Balanta and goalscorer Antonio German - while also giving special mentioned to two goal hero Matteo Alberti.

He said: 'I know all about the three of them, having worked closely with them over the last couple of years,

'They've got plenty of goals in them, I've got no doubts about that.

'I must also give a special mention to Matteo Alberti, who played much of the match so soon after Saturday's fixture at Nottingham Forest.

'He's full of confidence after his two goals for the First Team, and he gave a good account of himself this afternoon.'

Steve Brown - one of the remaining Gregory fodder. He's doing a great job in my opinion, we are actually starting to bring through players which is the real result!
Boxer
Brown is very under-rated - by that I mean we hear so little of him. He is working tirelessly for the good of the youngsters at our Club. Hat off to him & to the boys - good luck for Wednesday's match :-D

Remember the furore when Joe Gallen was given the boot - this bloke has already surpassed his work when you consider Balanta and Rose are coming through.
Boxer
True - and with less fuss and bother than Gallen as well!
