Palermo Send Young R's Out

Queens Park Rangers Under 20`s were sent tumbling out of the Viareggio Tournament by Italian outfit Palermo.

Goals from Gianvito Misuraca, Samuele Romeo and Marco Giovio helped propel the Rosanero into second place and in prime spot for a qualification place.

Only the three best second placed sides qualify for the next round and they are left to wait to find out if they`ve made the grade.

Danny Maguire struck a consolation strike from the spot as the R`s went down 3-1 to the Serie A side.

This brings down the curtain on a decent campaign for the QPR youngsters that ended prematurely. Antonio German has emerged as a talent scoring two goals with Romone Rose, Josh Parker and the aforementioned Maguire hitting the rest.

Rangers bow out of the competition at the first stage, however they can hold their heads having competed with the youngsters of Europe`s elite - something that promises much for the future at Loftus Road.
