Mikele Leigertwood has spoken for the second time this week expressing his happiness at the club`s latest signing Jordi López.
Leigertwood spoke earlier on in the week concerning Rangers promotion charge and how the R`s can 'Do a Palace` in reference to his former side going on a trailblazing run to the Premier League.
Now Mikele has praised his newest colleague Jordi López as well as returning winger Lee Cook while speaking to QPR.co.uk.
He said: 'He's come in and shown good potential in training,
'He's comfortable on the ball and will fit in to the system well because he can play anywhere in midfield.
'Cooky is a key player for us, because he gives us great balance down the left hand side with Damien (Delaney).
'He was getting back to his best before the ban, so it'll be great to have him back in the fray.'
There is now far greater competition for places at QPR than there has been in recent years with López joining new signing Liam Miller to vie for a place in the heart of the R`s midfield.
Leigertwood believes however that this will have a positive influence on the squad.
He said: 'It's great because it will keep everyone on their toes!
'Those in possession of the shirt will be extra determined to put in a performance because there's another player in the squad competing for a starting berth.
'The Manager has made it clear that everyone will play their part, so it's up to each and every player to be on the top of their game, day in, day out.'
Both Cook and López are set to be in the squad as the R`s host Ipswich Town live on Sky tomorrow evening.
