Brighton chairman Dick Knight has welcomed Queens Park Rangers` move to allow Gary Borrowdale to join the Seagulls.

Knight, who has been the club`s driving force behind a move to a new stadium, told of a friendship with Rangers and sporting director Gianni Paladini in light of Gary Borrowdale`s move to the Withdean Stadium.

He said: 'Queens Park Rangers have extended the hand of friendship to the Albion. Gianni was aware of our crippling injury situation and I am very grateful that he has helped us out.'

The R`s left back is set to line up for Brighton this afternoon as they come to London to face Leyton Orient.

He joins a squad with two ex-Rangers players, central midfielder Jason Jarrett and left winger Kevin McLeod.

Nice to see in times of everybody hitting out at us we can still make some friends in the game. Here's to hoping they have Rehman back on loan as well ... for a third time..

Well, let's be honest, Borrowdale was going nowhere fast with the Rs - so this hand of generosity from us will also be a hand of generosity to the kid! At least he'll be playing football now &, maybe, if he proves useful, Sousa may reconsider his options after the loan deal expires?!

I highly doubt it, put it this way would you want him to reconsider over Rehman?
