Spurs Starlet Signs on Loan

Rangers have signed Spurs midfielder Adel Taarabt on loan until the end of the season.

Taarabat was born on the 24 May 1989 in Berre-l'Étang, France and is of Moroccan origin.

He has represented France at U-16, U-17 and U-18 level and is able to play as a Second Striker, Attacking Midfielder or on either wing, and is well known for his dribbling ability and shooting from distance. On the 11th February he made his full international debut for Morocco in a friendly against the Czech Republic

Taarabt signed for Spurs on loan in January 2007 from French side Racing Club de Lens, and within two months he made his first senior appearance, coming on as a substitute on the 85th minute against West Ham United. He made an immediate impact with his first touch leading to the 3-3 equaliser as a driving run from half-way was ended by a foul on the edge of the box. Dimitar Berbatov scored with the resulting free kick.

He signed for Spurs on a permanent deal in June 2007 and has made 9 starts for them from the bench.

Upon signing for Rangers he told the press "Other clubs came in for me, but QPR is a team that plays football in the way that I like to play. This is why I chose them over the others."

Racing Lens in the North of France is a well know factory of footballing talent.Former stars who have come through the ranks at the Stade Bollaert include such names as: Olivier Dacourt,Papa Bouba Diop,Rigobert Song, and Antoine Sibierski.

I'll be at the Crystal Palace match on 4 April. I hope to see him play, He is raw, but a true talent. I hope he hones his skills and comes back to Spurs even better.

Boxer, can you do us poor Spurs fans a favour and post a thread on his progress and your view of him - assuming he starts tomorrow, cheers, Spursex..I warn you opinions on him are from one extreme to the other, there are some who think he is the next Zidane, and some who think he is just a clown - I think he is somewhere in between and may 'only' be the next Gazza! LOL!..He is certainly half way there, as he is daft as a brush.

Like the other Spurs fans have said he is a real talent but ageed a bit raw. If he get games he will improve and you will be amazed by his talent. If your coaches can get him to wok asa team and iprove his decsion making then brilliantbecuase this lad has potential o be a World class player IMO but he needs to play. As for scoring I think he will cotribute but he will create and put the fear of God int some defenses I am sure but like I said a bit raw as he is still young and learning. Keep us posted and updated and let us know how he does and good luck and look after him.

I saw what you meant by raw - he doesn't like to give that ball away either! Still I think there's plenty to work with!

Had a good effort today which the Southampton had to turn round the post or he would've made an immediate impact! But he is very raw and it is clear he has an awful lot to learn - particularly when to hold the ball and when to release it!

He has to start mid week for my money - hopefully we can get that sort of impact from the start and get off to flyer.
