Flavio Briatore has admitted that while he has been disappointed this season there is plenty of time to go in the QPR project.

The Formula One magnate has openly admitted that he has been disappointed by the football but admits that there have been several key players missing from the line-up.

'The football is a bit disappointing. We have had a lot of players out, like Rowan Vine and Įkos Buzsaky,' Briatore told the BBC.

'But when we started this programme we were talking about four years - we've only had one year.'

Briatore reiterated the fact that when he took over Rangers were in dire financial trouble, and in times of trouble he is the person that is planning for the club`s future in an appropriate manner.

He continued: 'Last year we were bankrupt, we paid all the debt and the stadium is ours, 100%. We have put a lot of money behind the club.

'When you are building a house you start from the base, not the roof. Little by little we're improving the stadium, the company, the image - and I'm sure we're improving the football as well.

'We have a good squad, so let's see what happens next season.'

Briatore completed the takeover of Queens Park Rangers with business partner Bernie Ecclestone on November 7, 2007. Since then Rangers have become financially stable, prices have risen and opinions are more divided than ever.
