QPR midfielder Jordi López has been selected in the Championship team of the week.

The Spaniard, who signed a short-term contract for Rangers back in February, put in a first class display to score his first goal in the blue and white hoops.

His 65th minute free-kick set the R`s on their way, as he fired an unstoppable right footed drive into the top right hand corner past the despairing dive of Adriano Basso.

There was no place however for the winning goalscorer Adel Taarabt who was inexplicably left out in favour of Bristol City`s goalscorer Michael McIndoe.

The team is as follows:

Stephen Bywater (Derby County)
Lewis Buxton (Sheffield Wednesday)
Steven Caldwell (Burnley)
Andre Bikey (Reading)
Matthew Hill (Wolves)
Michael Kightly (Wolves)
Sammy Clingan (Norwich City)
Jordi López (Queens Park Rangers)
Michael McIndoe (Bristol City)
DJ Campbell (Blackpool)
Cameron Jerome (Birmingham City)
