Heidar Helguson will not travel with the Iceland squad to face Scotland on Wednesday night.

Helguson`s Iceland take on Scotland in a crucial World Cup Qualifier on Wednesday night but the R`s forward has been forced to remain in West London for treatment on an ongoing injury.

The forward`s time in W12 has been interrupted with spells on the sideline, with Helguson seemingly unable to get a good run in the first team.

He, like many of the forwards, has struggled to hit the back of the net of late - even though he has been well placed to do so on occasions.

Helguson has scored five goals in 37 international caps and since moving to Rangers, initially on loan, has made 18 appearances scoring five goals.

We were warned about his being injury-proned. What did the Bolton fans call him? "Sick note"?!

We were warned, but he's scored some useful goals this season - his brace against Blackpool coupled with the win was worth his purchase alone. Made my evening.
