One to Watch - Chris McCann

Vital QPR has singled out central midfielder Chris McCann as the One to Watch against Burnley this weekend.

A product of the Burnley youth system, McCann has established himself as a regular in the Clarets line-up - scoring some spectacular goals along the way.

He made his Burnley debut in the 4-0 home win over Coventry City in August 2005 replacing Wade Elliott in the 12th minute.

He went on to score goals against Ipswich Town and later Queens Park Rangers, jinking to find space on the edge of the area before firing an unstoppable curling past Simon Royce.

The Dublin born midfielder got a further run in the team in the 2006-07 season as Richard Chaplow`s departure prompted Steve Cotterill to blood the youngster.

Five goals in 38 appearances that season propelled him to be one of the prime talents in a prospering Burnley side that finished the season on a brighter note than previously - this included another strike at Loftus Road but this time the Clarets came unstuck in a 3-1 defeat.

There was controversy when McCann pulled out of the Ireland Under 21 squad two hours before kick-off against Bulgaria - something that has undoubtedly affected his chances in the full international reckoning.

A further five goals came in 2007-08 in 35 appearances - he was also sent off for the first time in his career against local rivals Preston North End in a 3-2 home defeat as the Clarets inch ever closer to the playoffs.

So far this season he has exceeded his goal tally with six strikes to his name, as well as a strike in the League Cup against Tottenham Hotspur as the Clarets came up agonisingly short to a major cup shock at Turf Moor.

The majority of McCann`s goals come at home and he will be looking to add to a growing tally this weekend as Rangers travel to Turf Moor.
