QPR Move In On Forward

Queens Park Rangers have today been hotly tipped to sign veteran striker Dele Adebola following his bosman release from Bristol City.

The Mirror carries the story this morning that strengthens Rangers link with the former Coventry City man believing that he has been offered a lucrative two year deal at Loftus Road.

The striker leaves City with ten goals to his name this season and it is hoped that he will have the fire-power necessary to push Rangers into the promotion frame next season.

It is thought that Adebola was disappointed with the offer of a one year deal offered to him Gary Johnson, with the manager stating to BBC Bristol.

He said: 'He plays his cards close to his chest but we offered a year and he said he could get somewhere else for two.'

I said we'd move for him a few weeks ago! Honestly, is he the kind of player we want to see? I know anything's better than Helguson but Adebola's past it. OK he's big and strong as he showed at LR a few weeks ago, but didn't threaten the goal. The only reason we're interested in him is that he's on a free.

Agreed, but we missed out on proven Championship prowess in Kevin Phillips last summer. I think a player like this on a free is a must, not only because of his experience in getting promoted but he has proven he is capable of leading the line, scoring goals and providing for others. Yes he's getting on but I'd say it's invaluable experience.

will be a good signing if he is consistent. Should bag 10 goals at least. At least this year we are going for players who have proved themselves at this level instead of going to buy young foriegn players to give them experience.
