Magilton In Talks With QPR

Jim Magilton has met with Queens Park Rangers owners today according to a national newspaper

The former Ipswich boss has been rumoured by the Daily Mail to be QPR`s first choice over Colin Calderwood, who the Mail state had a meeting with Flavio Briatore previously.

The former Northern Ireland international met with QPR owners today (Tuesday) as they look to fill the void left by Paulo Sousa a few months ago.

The newspaper believes that QPR are going for Magilton over the former Nottingham Forest manager - both of whom lost their jobs this season for underachieving at their relative clubs.

Magilton was given the boot from Portman Road in classy fashion by mysterious owner Marcus Evans who relieved him of his duties by telephone while the Ipswich legend was on compassionate leave.

Certainly not the appointment I'd want - but then again watching how Town demolished us in W12, would it be such a bad thing??

Yes it would. We have ambitions and it is about time we started to match them by signing someone good rather than someone decent (as a manager or a striker)

He played a nice style of passing football - which you alluded to yourself LCF is something you would want to see - he knows the Championship.. albeit he is a slightly smaller name but maybe it's what we need? I think Ipswich fans will agree he managed the way he played, ball on the deck.
Boxer
This is great news for Jim, and for QPR. He will do fantastically for you, and really will bring an attractive, attacking brand of football to Loftus Road. Good luck to him.
Just-an-Ipswich-fan
Cue Ipswich fan, lol. They seem happy for the style of play, which was apparently the only reason that some weren't going to renew, well there you go, sorted.
Boxer
He'll be gone by Christmas so what's the point in getting worked up?!
sandydl
Who let you back in you bitter cynic!! :D

Uninspiring

If he does come in to manage you, give him full support. There are a lot worse managers you could get, and he will give 100% passion to the job at hand. Maybe he'll be the manager that sticks around...
TractorBoyTuck
The point being tractor boy is that there are a lot better we SHOULD be getting. It seems we are settling for second best when we have the clout to get higher. It's like opting for a metro when there's a ferrari on the forecourt - it makes no sense.
