All of the latest developments in the transfer market as Championship clubs gear themselves up for the beginning of a new campaign.

Part one will focus on transfers to and from Barnsley, Blackpool, Coventry City, Crystal Palace, Derby County, Doncaster Rovers and Ipswich Town.

Tykes loanee Michael Mifsud looks set to secure his signature away from parent club Coventry City - but the pint-size striker won`t be eyeing a move to Oakwell.

The Maltese front-man looks to be a target for Leeds United boss Simon Grayson as he attempts to build a promotion challenging side next season.

A striker who is putting pen to paper in the next few days will be Michael Coulson despite a succession of injuries that have threatened to end his career.

The 21-year-old striker only managed three appearances for the Tykes this season owing to two cruciate knee ligament injuries but speaking to the Sheffield Star he praised Simon Davey for the offer of a new deal.

He said: 'The club didn't have to offer me a new deal, but Simon has been brilliant with me. I'm ready to sign.'

Blackpool chief Karl Oyston continues to quash speculation in his usual manner by pouring scorn onto any potential deal to take defender Shaun Barker away from Bloomfield Road.

Derby County have rumoured to have bid for the defender and have apparently even offered forward Liam Dickinson in exchange for the 26-year-old defender, but Oyston is not prepared to do a deal.

Speaking to the Blackpool Gazette he said: 'We are just not interested in talking to them at all.

'We have told them that what they have offered is not acceptable and we don't want to swap any players."

Sky Blues goalkeeper Dimi Konstantopoulos may have a future away from the Ricoh Arena after being the subject of interest from Hartlepool United.

The stopper who signed for Coventry from Hartlepool has also had spells on loan with fellow Championship clubs Cardiff City and Swansea City.

Hartlepool were rebuffed in their attempt to take the 30-year-old on loan with City biding their time with a goalkeeper who had a year left on his current deal.

The Eagles are vying with Derby County for the signature of Norwich City winger Lee Croft.

The former Manchester City wide-man has been the subject of specualtion since the Canaries` drop into League One with confusion arising as to the reasons behind him not signing a new deal at Carrow Road.

Should he move to either Selhurst Park or Derby County it would be on a free transfer as his deal at Carrow Road failed to be renewed.

Meanwhile defender Danny Butterfield may be on his way out of the club after Neil Warnock`s vow to bring through the youngsters at Selhurst Park. This may well alert rivals Charlton Athletic to the availability of the long-serving full-back.

Warnock told the South London Press: 'There is a possibility we will make Danny available because of Nathaniel Clyne coming through.

'I've really got to look at areas I want to improve and it may mean letting one or two players leave without damaging the squad. Danny is too good to not be playing regularly.'

It seems at present that Nigel Clough is being linked with every player under the sun, but he will do well to match the summer turnover engineered by former boss Paul Jewell last year.

This time around however he has been knocked back in his efforts to sign Shaun Barker from Blackpool while continuing to sniff around departing Norwich City wide-man Lee Croft.

The deal that would take Dean Moxey to Pride Park from Exeter City has also hit a stumbling block with the Rams turned down in what is believed to be a £200,000 bid.

Manager Paul Tidsdale had no objections to the Moxey move providing they are offered a fair price: 'I've got no problem with Dean leaving, as long as we get a good deal for the club,' he told Sky Sports.

'It's not a case of holding on to him really, but more a sense of getting good business out of the move."

It`s been a busy week at the Keepmoat Stadium as Rovers attempt to bolster their squad while keeping hold of one of their prize assets.

Doncaster are making a move for Crewe defender Danny Woodards after he turned down a new deal at Gresty Road. The former Exeter City man is now out of contract with the Cheshire outfit and Rovers have Norwich City, Milton Keynes Dons and Colchester United for company in the race to sign the 25-year-old.

One of the reasons Milton Keynes are going for Woodards could be that they are about to lose Spaniard Miguel Angel Llera to Doncaster. The defender has turned down a new deal at Stadium:MK following failure to gain promotion to the Championship. Norwich City, Charlton Athletic and Cardiff City are all keeping a close eye on proceedings.

Rovers` record signing Matthew Mills continues to be the subject of speculation for several clubs. The latest are Nottingham Forest, whom, while showing an interest, have yet to table a formal bid.

Roy Keane has certainly set the rumour mill in motion since joining the Tractor Boys a few weeks before the end of the season, however the latest rumour surrounding potential purchases has surprised many in both camps.

Keane has apparently made a £500,000 move for Queens Park Rangers defender Damien Delaney. The Irishman has flattered to deceive at Loftus Road under the guidance of Iain Dowie, Gareth Ainsworth and Paulo Sousa and may be looking for a fresh start.

Having spoken to a few MK fans they say Llera was bloody awful when he first joined - that could be an absolute shocker if he signed for Cardiff/Donny!
