New Queens Park Rangers assistant boss John Gorman has given his reaction following the Carling Cup draw away at Exeter City.

Officially appointed to his post yesterday, Gorman looked forward to the trip to St James Park as the R`s travel to the south west to face the Grecians.

He told QPR.co.uk: 'It's a tricky tie, but one we're more than capable of winning.

'We'll need to be totally committed and professional to get the job done, and we'll be drumming that in to the players from day one of pre-season training.'

Exeter were promoted on the final game of the campaign at the Don Valley Stadium against Rotherham United - striker Richard Logan sending the strong travelling army into delirium and into League One.

Since then speculation has surrounded has surrounded the future of players such as Dean Moxey, who seems destined to join Derby County, and Maltese born boss Paul Tisdale has also been linked away from the south west.

The new duo of Gorman and Magilton will be looking to emulate the hard work of Iain Dowie last season to overcome Swindon Town, Carlisle United and Aston Villa - as their journey with Queens Park Rangers begins.

With the Carling Cup fixtures announced today the new pair have the full Championship fixture list to look forward to tomorrow with big-guns Newcastle United and Middlesbrough dropping into the second tier.
