QPR Kick Off Against Blackpool

Queens Park Rangers will face Blackpool on the opening game of the 2009-10 Championship season.

The game will be played at Loftus Road as Rangers get home comfort for the second year in succession. Indeed QPR boss Jim Magilton will take charge of his fourth home start in succession.

The Tangerines are now managed by former QPR boss Jim Magilton who is keen to usher in a new era at Bloomfield Road. He will face the familiar surroundings at Loftus Road, a place where he has a decent record.

Last time against the Tangerines in W12 Gary Taylor Fletcher`s outstanding effort down the Loftus Road end was cancelled out by Akos Buzsaky.

Rangers will round the campaign off at Loftus Road as well with Newcastle United the visitors to W12 in what could be a decisive game in both sides` promotion push.

The campaign kicks off on Saturday August 8 2009 with Jim Magilton`s Queens Park Rangers eyeing a positive start in what is being billed as a campaign to remember.

Pleased with Blackpool @ home 1st and Newcie @ home last games of the season, just annoyed the trip to St. James' Park (the one in Newcastle, not Exeter!) is a mid-week one. Hopefully we can make a start like we did in the last game when we faced Blackpool on the opening day. Let Gareth Ainsworth play!!!

Yeah unfortunate about the Newcastle away trip - both St James Parks in such a short space of time and it couldn't be further!! I may go to Brackley Town as well and make it a trio of St James Park's!
