Magilton Relishes Ipswich Challenge

Queens Park Rangers boss Jim Magilton is looking forward to a return to Portman Road when the R's visit over Christmas.

Shortly after the fixtures were released he revealed to QPR.co.uk that while it wasn`t the first thing he looked for it was assistant manager John Gorman who first spotted the clash.

"John noticed it before I did," said the former Ipswich boss.

"It`s a Christmas fixture, hopefully we`ll have a better idea of where we are in the league.

"But again I know what Christmas fixtures mean at Portman Road so it should be a big crowd and hopefully we`ll go there on the back of a really good run and it`s another game that we`ll look forward to."

Queens Park Rangers will travel to Portman Road to face Roy Keane`s Ipswich on Monday December 28 - the final fixture in 2009 for the R`s.

The reverse fixture in early February is undoubtedly going to provide Rangers with another stern test as proven by Magilton`s Ipswich turning over a goal deficit last season to storm the fixture 3-1.

A performance by QPR on the opening game of the season against Blackpool would be desirable with the R`s on that occasion taken apart by spells of breathtaking football by the Tractor Boys.
