Queens Park Rangers will take on London`s elite this evening as the London Masters kicks off at the Wembley Arena.
The event takes place this evening at 8.00pm at the Wembley Arena priced £18 for adults/£12 recessions.
The R`s include a host of talent spread over different eras of the club with old heads such as Andy Tilson and Andy Sinton combined with players of the 90s - Tony Roberts, Danny Maddix, Michael Meaker and Bradley Allen.
The young gun`s, if you can describe them as that, are Steve Palmer, Karl Connolly and Tony Thorpe as Rangers look to take on London`s finest. David Bardsley had been expected to feature for QPR but has not been named on the final squad list.
The squad lists read like a who`s who of London football with several ex-QPR players competing for other sides.
Hammersmith born winger Jimmy Carter never played a game for Queens Park Rangers after being signed from Crystal Palace in 1985. He was later sold to Millwall for £15,000 where he made 110 appearances scoring 11 goals.
The side who he represents in the tournament is Arsenal for whom he made 25 appearances scoring two goals between 1991-95, which helped them to lift both the FA Cup and League Cup. He also had brief spells with Liverpool and Portsmouth.
Mark Stein will line up for the old enemy, Chelsea, where he made 51 appearances scoring 21 goals. Stein spent a season at Loftus Road in 1988-89 where he managed only four goals in 33 games and was subsequently sold on to Oxford United.
He has also had spells with Stoke City, Luton Town and AFC Bournemouth - he is currently with League Two outfit Barnet, reuniting with former striker Paul Furlong. His playing career has long since departed but he is deployed in a new role of physiotherapist at Underhill.
A more disappointing defector is former full back Clive Wilson who made 173 appearances scoring 12 goals for QPR over the space of five years. He joined the R`s from rivals Chelsea, for whom he represents in the masters, where he scored five goals in 81 games as a midfielder.
Rufus Brevett is one of many former R`s to play for West Ham United in this year`s masters. He signed for QPR from Doncaster Rovers for £275,000 in 1991 and spent most of his early days playing second fiddle to the aforementioned Clive Wilson.
Nevertheless Rufus managed 153 appearances for QPR over seven years, but hardly endeared himself to the R`s faithful by later departing for Fulham and having some desparaging things to say about the club. He played 25 times for the Hammers scoring a solitary goal.
A man that helped inspire QPR`s survival in the Championship under John Gregory, Steve Lomas will also line-up for the Hammers this year. The Northern Irishman started with Manchester City before moving to West Ham and making 187 appearances.
Ian Holloway signed Lomas in 2005 on a free transfer and he made 55 appearances for the R`s scoring two goals - most memorably in a 4-2 win over Crystal Palace at Loftus Road.
Full back Keith Rowland signed for QPR from the side he represents in tonight`s competition, West Ham, in 1998 as the R`s tried to claw their way back to the Premier League at the second attempt. He made 59 appearances for the R`s, the majority coming from the bench.
Former England international Trevor Sinclair broke into the game at 16 years of age at Blackpool and caught the eye of Gerry Francis in 1993 after 112 appearances for the Tangerines. He captured the imagination of the world with hid landmark bicycle kick against Barnsley in the cup before moving to West Ham not long after QPR`s relegation from the Premier League.
He made 177 appearances for West Ham United before moving to Manchester City and finishing his career off with Cardiff City. He played for England 12 times under the reign of Sven Goran Eriksson.
