QPR Double Exit Imminent?

The future of two Rangers players could be in doubt after reports surfacing that they could be exiting Loftus Road.

The Mirror is reporting today that Ipswich are fronting the queue to sign QPR full back Damien Delaney. The defender has been linked with Cardiff City and Coventry City in recent days but the Mirror suggests that a £1,000,000 bid from the Tractor Boys sees them lead the way.

The left-back impressed in his first season at Loftus Road under Luigi De Canio, but with his attacking forays restricted by Iain Dowie and Paulo Sousa culminating in a disappointing 2008-09 season. At an evening with supporters he spoke of his disappointment that the R`s couldn`t recruit Roy Keane and has previously expressed a desire to work with him.

The second rumour comes from Vital Forest concerning the future of striker Dexter Blackstock.

Despite signing Dele Adebola and David McGoldrick, Forest are still eyeing the capture of Dexter Blackstock. Vital Forest, who have been tracking the deal, say that talks with Dexter are 'progressing well' as the reds look to add no fewer than eight players before the start of the Championship campaign.

Blackstock was signed by former boss Gary Waddock in August 2006 and impressed to keep Queens Park Rangers in the Championship under John Gregory. A confidence player, Dexter tends to score his goals in spells - something that Forest benefited from in their fight for survival last season.

Neither name is a surprise or even a shock - the real question is who is brought in to replace them - if anyone. That question, in itself & in my humble opinion, will be pivotal to the seriousness (or otherwise) of the Board about helping us get promotion!
