Queens Park Rangers announced the capture of Alejandro Faurlín earlier this week, but reports are surfacing that the £3.5m deal is far from straight-forward.
The following is a direct translation from Argentinean newspaper Dia A Dia, who reported today that QPR DO NOT own complete registration of the player.
After the confirmation of the selling of Alejandro Faurlin to QPR, a club of second division in England, the players family had a communication with Dia A Dia to rectify the information of the purchase.
His mother Sandra Bonis told us that the English club acquired only the 50% of the pass of the player. He began in the lower divisions of Rosario Central Club and River Plate.
QPR paid 500.000 euros for that percentage and not 3,5 millons of pounds as it was written in a newspaper.
His mother also told us that everything happened very suddenly. This club (QPR) has been watching Alejandro from a while, but his manager didn`t tell him this as he wanted Alejandro to be concentrated in the championship he was playing with Instituto Club. He flew as soon as he was told about it.
Faurlin signed his contract and immediately began his training with his new club. He has a very good relationship with his ex club Instituto and everybody wished him good luck in this new stage of his life and hope he can be back in Cordoba and Instituto Club one day.
The player went to England not being sure about his contract but found everything was arranged. He is very happy and getting used to this new step. He hopes to go on growing in football. In Cordoba the fans are missing one of the best soccer players of the last years in the club.
This announcement comes as speculation that the £3,500,000 may include a fee of £500,000 payable to Inter Milan who had a first option to sign the young Argentinean.
With thanks to Argentinean lawyer Marissa Paterno of Buenos Aires
