West Bromwich Albion are continuing to fend off interest for midfielder Jonathan Greening from Fulham. The whites have reportedly had two bids rejected by the Baggies, the second in the region of £3.25m.

With the former Manchester United and Middlesbrough man transfer listed at his own request it seems a matter of time before he follows Zoltán Gera to Craven Cottage.

Crystal Palace`s hopes of signing former Arsenal winger Jerome Thomas have been dealt a blow, with the pacy winger admitting he would prefer a move to a Premier League club.

The wide-man who`s had spells with Charlton Athletic and Portsmouth is currently on trial with Hull City, and impressed in their 6-0 victory over non-league outfit North Ferriby United.

Gareth Southgate has rejected a bid for want-away striker Alfonso Alves from an unnamed United Arab Emirates club.

The Northern Ireland international formerly of Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers has been linked with a move away from Carrow Road since the Canaries` relegation with Coventry hotly tipped to capture his signature.

Agents payments scuppered the deal previously, but Coleman is confident that something can be done before the season begins.

Bristol City`s goalkeeping injury crisis may see them hand a contract to trialist Peter Brezovan.

The former Swindon Town stopper was between the sticks against Cheltenham Town at the weekend after injuries to Adriano Basso, Stephen Henderson and recent capture Dean Gerken.

Gary Johnson was tight-lipped on the prospect of signing the Slovakian keeper, but believed that something would need to be done to solve the present goalkeeping crisis at Ashton Gate.
