Jim Magilton was delighted with Queens Park Rangers` performance this evening in the 2-1 victory over Wycombe Wanderers.

Rangers secured the victory with goals from Gavin Mahon and Patrick Agyemang with Luke Oliver notching a late consolation for the Chairboys.

R`s boss Magilton believed that his side took their performance up a notch at Adams Park in comparison to their recent displays.

'I think we raised it a level tonight," Jim told QPR.co.uk

'We scored two good goals, but our overall play was fantastic at times.

'We restricted them to very few chances of note and the only real disappointment was conceding late on.

'We want to pride ourselves on keeping clean sheets, but the changes disrupted us again, so I have to accept that.'

Magilton has named the same eleven for two fixtures in succession, but was keen to stress that it wasn`t a closed shop, with two further games before the season kick off on August 8 against Blackpool.

Games against Kettering tomorrow night and Saturday against Southampton will give players further chance to impress the R`s gaffer.

Magilton was delighted with the work rate of the performance this evening, stating: 'The work rate was great.

'We've come through injury free again and, since day one, the attitude of the players and their application has been first class.'

QPR XI now travel to Rockingham Road to face Kettering Town, before the final test of pre-season against Southampton at Loftus Road on August 1.
