Lonegunmen of New Zealand fans website QPR Fanz previews the new season with Vital QPR.
How do you rate Rangers performance last season?
Very disappointed, the manager turn-over was ridiculous and kept the side unsettled. I felt sorry for Sousa. Directors to direct, Managers to manage and Players to play - quite easy really. Some players needed to step up to the plate and didn't. I was hoping Ledesma and Parejo would have been the real deal but they weren't - well, not in our League.
What was your stand out moment?
Fitz Hall's two goal strike in two minutes comes immediately to my mind. Who'd have expected that?? Listening to Ledesma score a hattrick against Carlisle. There's been a dearth of them for the hoops in the last ten years.
How do you feel about the appointment of Jim Magilton?
I was disappointed. It seems our owners talk big, think big, act small. However, Magilton has been given the chance, let's hope the board get in and support him instead of sacking him in November. My only reservation is that if he couldn't do it at Ipswich, can he do it here??
Do you feel Rangers have strengthened adequately?
Left back urgently required, 2 X 20 goal strikers urgently. I was surprised they've let 3 keepers go. Crowther is here in Wellington playing for the Phoenix in the A League. Camp going seemed to be as personal as Dexter going.
I thought Dexter should have stayed, he does his job - score goals. I did not want him to be a defender or a midfeilder. I want to see him score and this he did. I also think we need to sign another utility defender who can play anywhere across the back line.
It would have been nice to have signed at least one BIG name to show intent. Perhaps Faurlin might be the surprise package in this League. I hope so.
Who will be the key player(s) for the R`s this season?
Faurlin if he fires, Buz & Vine. We have plenty of possibilities IF most the players live up to their potential.
Where do you expect the R`s to finish this season?
If we had signed a big name, I would have said 5th or 6th, I'm thinking if we fire we can still do it, otherwise 11th and yet another new Manager.
Championship - Who will be…
Champions: Middlesbrough but watch out Forest bought well!
Overachievers: Forest, Ipswich
Underachievers: QPR?? We can either succeed or implode. We never to it normal at QPR, Newcastle
Young Player to Watch: Taarabt (ok, he is on loan but he is young) and Joe Oastler stepping up to the plate.
Top Goalscorer: Vine or if Magilton experiments with Routledge - he is capable or doing some damage.
